At Allegrini, Palazzo della Torre can certainly be described as an iconic wine. The vines grow around the historic Villa della Torre, which also gives the wine its name. The 95 points from James Suckling are a rarity for a wine in this price range.

The magnificent Palazzo della Torre is made predominantly from the Corvina and Rondinella grape varieties, which are widespread in the Veneto. A small proportion of the grapes is left to dry after the harvest and is blended with the rest of the wine in January. This gives the wine an unforgettable flavour along with an enormous aroma spectrum and a small hint of Amarone.

In the glass, the wine immediately reveals aromas of sultanas, prunes and dried fruit, complemented by vanilla, black tea and gingerbread spice. The 2022 vintage is warmer and more elegant than its predecessor. It is impressive how many different flavours rise from the glass.

The wine is never coarse or brittle. It is round and supple with a subtle elegance. Palazzo della Torre is impressively fresh and lively on the palate thanks to its vital acidity. The dark and red berry flavours accompany the wine into the long finish.
