Ca' Rossa Roero Valmaggiore Audinaggio 2019 Organic, 0,75 L

This red wine is made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes and its name comes from the area where the grapes are grown. Sub-regions, such as Valmaggiore, have recently been approved in Roero. The name Audinaggio, on the other hand, is derived from the Piedmontese "Autinagia", which means "small piece of land" and refers to the vineyard from which this unique Roero is made.

Garnet red in the glass, medium density, more like Pinot Noir. On the nose, you immediately know what you're drinking: Typical Nebbiolo aromas, red berries, some leather, a hint of vanilla. Then some tar, with a representative abundance of herbal spice. It's super elegant on the nose, you'll want to sniff it forever. On the palate, the wine again has a floral touch; elegant and powerful at the same time. It has great sweetness, and robust but very ripe tannins lay themselves across the palate. There are aromas of herbs, red berries, liquorice and some leather, followed by a harmonious finish with a slight hint of aniseed. Very exciting!

Top wines from Piedmont don't always have to be Barolo or Barbaresco, and this is a great example of why!
