With the 2022 vintage, Opus Eximium marks its 35th anniversary and continues to be the benchmark of the Albert Gesellmann winery. This renowned red blend is a shining star among Austrian wines, crafted from Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, and a touch of St. Laurent. It matures for 24 months in used barriques, followed by a further 3 months in large oak barrels—now fully ready to reveal its elegance in the glass.

On the nose, it presents ripe blackberry, framed by subtle smoky spice and a delicate hint of nougat. The palate delivers on that promise: juicy cherry fruit, fine tannins, and a fresh note of berry jam. The finish is long and persistent, immediately inviting another sip. A true Austrian classic, it pairs beautifully with beef, juicy steaks, or braised dishes—but also elevates any occasion enjoyed on its own.
