Günter u. Regina Triebaumer Ried Oberer Wald Blaufränkisch 2020, 0,75 L

This red wine from the renowned “Oberer Wald” vineyard is the new flagship of the Günter + Regina Triebaumer winery in Rust. Blaufränkisch is one of the estate’s core strengths, so it’s no surprise that this wine received 97 points from Falstaff and 95 points from A la Carte. According to Falstaff, it ranks among the top four Blaufränkisch wines of the exceptional 2020 vintage.

After a good two years in 300-litre oak barrels (about 30% new), the long journey of this fleshy, spicy red now begins. Aromas of cherries, black tea, cinnamon, and fine wood already delight the nose. On the palate, it shows impressive power—dry, dense, and dominated by persistent fruit. It vibrates with energy and intensity, leading into an immensely long, warm finish. The wine still has potential for at least another 10–15 years.
