A truly lovely Italian wine that shows just how much drinking pleasure a good Valpolicella can offer! The San Pietro Valpolicella Superiore DOC 2024 from the Monte Tondo family estate combines juicy fruit, subtle spice and a wonderfully balanced structure. A red wine that delights with its elegance, without ever seeming heavy or overbearing.

The grapes come from the hills of Valpolicella in Veneto, specifically from the vineyards around Campiano and Cogollo. The classic blend of Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Molinara is harvested by hand and carefully vinified. The wine is then aged for at least 6 months in barriques and tonneaux, giving it additional depth and a subtle spiciness.

In the glass, it displays a beautiful ruby red colour. On the nose, you’ll find intense aromas of ripe cherries, juicy wild berries and delicate violets, accompanied by a subtle hint of spice. On the palate, the San Pietro is fruit-forward, pleasantly smooth and, at the same time, wonderfully fresh. Its harmonious balance ensures an elegant, lingering finish.

This Italian wine pairs particularly well with pasta in a rich meat sauce, a juicy beef steak or grilled meat. But it’s also a real delight on its own.
