In the glass, the wine shows a pale yellow colour with delicate green highlights. On the nose, there are notes of yellow apple, ripe citrus, a hint of herbal spice and that subtle, cool character so typical of fine Rieslings from schist soils. On the palate, it is dry, precise and full of vigour. It has substance, yet remains slender enough to be a genuine pleasure. The freshness runs cleanly through the wine, giving it length and tension.

The GG designation stands for a Riesling of distinction, provenance and depth. Carlo Schmitt has not created a showy wine, but rather a dry Mosel Riesling that reveals more with every sip.
