<xhtml:div xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><xhtml:p>Sometimes you do not need big words or complicated wines.
Sometimes a glass that is simply enjoyable is enough. This
<xhtml:strong>white wine</xhtml:strong> from the Georg Preisinger winery is
exactly that.</xhtml:p>
<xhtml:p>It reveals its inviting character from the very first sniff.
Fresh citrus notes, juicy apple and a hint of white flowers create
a lively first impression. On the palate, it is pleasantly light,
wonderfully juicy and has a freshness that immediately invites
another sip. Everything remains harmonious, balanced and remarkably
accessible.</xhtml:p>
<xhtml:p>The Sauvignon Blanc and Welschriesling grapes are organically
grown and handled with great care. The result is a modern white
wine that does not need to be bold to impress. It favours elegance
and ease over heaviness, which is precisely what makes it so
appealing.</xhtml:p>
<xhtml:p>This wine from Burgenland truly comes into its own on warm days.
Whether enjoyed on the terrace, at a picnic or as an easy companion

<xhtml:div xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><xhtml:p>Some wines tell a story from the very first sip and continue to
impress. This <xhtml:strong>red wine cuvée</xhtml:strong> speaks of Georgia, of
a wine tradition that dates back thousands of years, and of a
family that ranks among the country’s most exciting producers.</xhtml:p>
<xhtml:p>The blend of <xhtml:strong>60% Saperavi</xhtml:strong> and <xhtml:strong>40%
Cabernet Sauvignon</xhtml:strong> is matured in <xhtml:strong>clay
amphorae</xhtml:strong> and <xhtml:strong>barrique barrels</xhtml:strong>, resulting
in remarkable complexity and impressive depth. In the glass, it
shows a deep ruby red colour. The bouquet reveals ripe black
cherries, blackberries and dark forest fruits, accompanied by spicy
notes, dried herbs and a hint of cocoa. With a little air, the
aromas gain further depth and develop a compelling complexity. On
the palate, it is powerful and juicy. Dark fruit takes centre
stage, supported by fine spice and grippy, well-integrated tannins.
Traditional fermentation and maturation in Georgian qvevris provide
structure and character, while the barrique barrels lend an
international style and a long, harmonious finish.</xhtml:p>
<xhtml:p>The Family Selection represents the finest batches from the
Dakishvili winery and combines Georgian tradition with
international experience with great precision. The result is a red
wine that is authentic and distinctive, yet also remarkably
approachable.</xhtml:p>
<xhtml:p>It pairs particularly well with grilled beef, braised lamb, game
dishes or hearty stews. Anyone wishing to explore Georgia’s
fascinating world of red wines will find an excellent example here.
Powerful, full of character and beautifully balanced. A wine of
outstanding quality.</xhtml:p>

<xhtml:strong>white wine</xhtml:strong> from AWM, the Austrian Wine Mafia, is a
perfect example. It is a project by Lorenz Allram together with
Matthias Warnung from the Kamptal. Behind the unusual name “Dolce
& the Japanese” lies a wonderfully uncomplicated
<xhtml:strong>natural wine</xhtml:strong> that is, above all, great fun. A
blend of <xhtml:strong>Grüner Veltliner and Müller Thurgau</xhtml:strong>, it
is spontaneously fermented, unfiltered and made with minimal
sulphur.</xhtml:p>
<xhtml:p>On the nose, it already shows inviting fruit, with notes of
juicy peach, ripe apple and a hint of citrus. On the palate, the
wine is pleasantly fresh, light on its feet and beautifully
balanced. The fruit takes centre stage without becoming
overpowering, while the lively acidity provides a smooth finish and
encourages another sip.</xhtml:p>
<xhtml:p>This white wine is not meant for lengthy analysis. It is made to
be enjoyed with friends, on a relaxed evening on the terrace, at a
picnic in the countryside or simply whenever you fancy a good glass

For decades, this family-run estate has been one of the

expression.</xhtml:p>
<xhtml:p>This <xhtml:strong>Grüner Veltliner Federspiel</xhtml:strong> clearly shows

outstanding reputation. On the nose, the wine opens with fresh

complemented by notes of white pepper and delicate herbs, which are
typical of a fine Grüner Veltliner.</xhtml:p>
<xhtml:p>On the palate, this white wine is juicy and precise. The fruit

distinctive and full of character, it clearly shows why Georgian
red wines are gaining increasing attention on the international
wine scene. We were immediately captivated and deeply impressed by
this wine.</xhtml:p>
<xhtml:p>Its deep, dark colour already hints at what is to come. On the
nose, ripe blackberries, black cherries and dark plums are
accompanied by spicy notes of black pepper, herbs and a touch of
cocoa. With a little air, the wine reveals additional depth and an
intriguing complexity. On the palate, this Saperavi is juicy and

lively freshness that lends it remarkable elegance despite its
power. The long finish is marked by dark fruit and subtle
spice.</xhtml:p>
<xhtml:p>The Dakishvili family’s Family Selection represents traditional
winemaking at the highest level. Ageing in Georgian

result is a layered red wine that conveys its origins with every

      <xhtml:div xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><xhtml:p>Whenever <xhtml:strong>people talk</xhtml:strong> about <xhtml:strong>Austria’s
finest white wines</xhtml:strong>, one name is certain to come up:
<xhtml:strong>Singerriedel</xhtml:strong>. For decades, this renowned vineyard
in Spitz an der Donau has produced <xhtml:strong>Rieslings</xhtml:strong> that
rank among the very best in the world. The current 2024 vintage has
been awarded <xhtml:strong>100 Falstaff</xhtml:strong> points and <xhtml:strong>100
James Suckling</xhtml:strong> points. It does not get any better than
that.</xhtml:p>
<xhtml:p>Even at first glance, it is clear that this is no ordinary
Riesling. On the nose, it reveals ripe apricot, juicy vineyard
peach, delicate citrus notes and a hint of exotic fruit. Beneath
this, a striking minerality emerges, lending the wine tension and
elegance.</xhtml:p>
<xhtml:p>On the palate, this ‘Smaragd’ is both powerful and refined. The
fruit is concentrated, yet remains crystal clear and precise.
Perfectly integrated acidity brings freshness and drive, while the
mineral notes linger through the impressively long finish. With a
little aeration, the Riesling gains further depth and gradually
reveals new layers.</xhtml:p>
<xhtml:p>The steep terraces of the Singerriedel vineyard are among the
most renowned in Europe. The combination of primary rock soils, the
Danube climate and significant temperature differences between day
and night creates ideal conditions for Rieslings of exceptional
quality.</xhtml:p>
<xhtml:p>It has remarkable ageing potential and will continue to develop
over many years. A truly great Wachau Riesling, elegant, complex
and wonderfully enjoyable to drink.</xhtml:p>

<xhtml:p>In the glass, it shows a bright ruby red colour. The nose brings
ripe cherries, red forest berries and a hint of Mediterranean

the palate, this Tuscan wine is beautifully juicy, soft and well

fresh style, give it an easy, flowing drinkability.</xhtml:p>
<xhtml:p>The Sangiovese grape variety thrives around Scansano. The warm

ripeness, while cooling influences from the sea lend the wine its

<xhtml:div xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><xhtml:p>Anyone who believes orange wine is a recent trend has never been
to Georgia. There, wines have been aged for thousands of years in
large <xhtml:strong>clay amphorae</xhtml:strong>, known as
<xhtml:strong>qvevris</xhtml:strong>. This <xhtml:strong>amber wine</xhtml:strong> clearly
demonstrates why this tradition is receiving more attention today
than ever before.</xhtml:p>
<xhtml:p>Its intense amber colour immediately sparks curiosity. The nose
reveals aromas of dried apricots, candied citrus fruits, herbs and
delicate spices. With a little air, notes of honey, orange peel and
a hint of tea emerge. On the palate, this <xhtml:strong>Kisi</xhtml:strong> is
powerful and complex, yet surprisingly precise. The maceration
period gives it a fine tannin structure that provides grip and adds
interest. At the same time, it remains harmonious and easy to
drink.</xhtml:p>

has an exceptional understanding of how to combine traditional

qvevri.</xhtml:p>

<xhtml:div xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><xhtml:p><xhtml:strong>Rosé</xhtml:strong> can be many things: unimportant,
interchangeable, or simply pleasant to look at. This Wachau rosé
clearly does not fall into that category. It is a wine that brings
immediate pleasure from the first sip, with a well-judged balance
of fruit, freshness, and elegance.</xhtml:p>
<xhtml:p>The finest hand-picked Pinot Noir grapes are gently cool-pressed
together with a small proportion of Zweigelt and fermented in
stainless steel tanks in the classic manner. The nose is already
highly inviting, with fresh strawberries, raspberries, and
redcurrants alongside delicate herbal notes and a hint of citrus.
On the palate, it is juicy, light on its feet, and precise. The
lively Wachau acidity provides freshness, while the fine fruit
lingers, encouraging another sip. This is exactly how a rosé for
summer should taste.</xhtml:p>
<xhtml:p>Tegernseerhof has been among the leading wineries in the Wachau
for many years and, with this Federspiel, once again demonstrates
that the region excels in more than just Grüner Veltliner and
Riesling. The cool nights along the Danube lend the wine its
freshness and elegance, while the ripe grapes contribute generous
fruit.</xhtml:p>
<xhtml:p>Whether enjoyed with grilled fish, summer salads, antipasti, or
simply on a relaxed evening on the terrace, this rosé feels at home
in any setting. It appears uncomplicated, yet offers far more than
one might expect at first glance. For this reason, we consider it
one of the finest summer companions from the Wachau.</xhtml:p>

Georgia is regarded as the birthplace of viticulture. This Family
Selection falls firmly into that category. Authentic, full of
character and far removed from mass-produced wines, it demonstrates
how compelling traditional winemaking can be today. The white wine
is made exclusively from indigenous grape varieties, comprising 70%
Kisi, 20% Mtsvane and 10% Rkatsiteli, and is matured for over a
year in <xhtml:strong>clay amphorae</xhtml:strong> (Qvevri).</xhtml:p>
<xhtml:p>In the glass, the wine shows an intense amber colour. The nose

greater ageing potential.</xhtml:p>
<xhtml:p>This Amarone comes from the historic Classico region around
Verona, the birthplace of this renowned wine. For years, La
Giaretta has been among the producers that consistently impress
with excellent value for money. The 2022 vintage once again shows
why these wines enjoy such a strong following.</xhtml:p>
<xhtml:p>In the glass, the wine displays a deep ruby red colour with an
almost black core. The bouquet is intense and layered. Ripe
cherries, dark wild berries and the dried fruit notes typical of
Amarone take centre stage. Subtle hints of coffee, tobacco and
balsamic herbs add further depth.</xhtml:p>
<xhtml:p>On the palate, this classic is powerful and concentrated, yet
well balanced. The rich fruit is supported by lively acidity,

<xhtml:p>The magnum is well suited to festive occasions, social

highly distinctive wine. After being largely forgotten for many
years, it has come to prominence again in recent times and now
stands as one of Vienna’s most characteristic white wine
specialities. The <xhtml:strong>diverse blend of grape

a story and expresses geology and origin in a remarkably vivid way.
Since 2013, the finest examples from the capital have been awarded
the DAC designation.</xhtml:p>
<xhtml:p>The grapes are harvested and processed together by hand on the
Bisamberg and Nussberg, then matured in stainless steel tanks. This

grape varieties, clearly demonstrating why this dry white wine is
so widely appreciated. Organic cultivation is, as expected,
standard practice for leading winemaker Fritz Wieninger.</xhtml:p>

<xhtml:div xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><xhtml:p>Cabernet Sauvignon and Tuscany now work remarkably well
together, especially when the grapes receive plenty of sunshine
while still retaining their freshness. This red wine achieves
exactly that, and does so with impressive finesse. It is powerful
and full of flavour, yet at the same time wonderfully
approachable.</xhtml:p>
<xhtml:p>This Tuscan wine displays plenty of character on the nose, with
dark redcurrants, ripe wild berries and refined notes of herbs,
tobacco and a hint of cedar wood. On the palate, it is full-bodied
and juicy, with beautifully integrated tannins and just the right
degree of intensity. Despite its strength, everything remains
pleasantly harmonious and well balanced.</xhtml:p>
<xhtml:p>The ageing process adds further depth and brings subtle spicy
notes that complement the dark fruit perfectly. The wine is never
heavy, but instead remains elegantly structured and easy to drink.
It is precisely this balance that makes it such an excellent
companion to food.</xhtml:p>
<xhtml:p>This Cabernet Sauvignon pairs particularly well with grilled
meat, steak, game dishes or robust pasta dishes with rich, dark
sauces. Matured hard cheese also complements its spicy character
beautifully. A red wine for those who appreciate intense yet
elegant Tuscan styles.</xhtml:p>

<xhtml:p>The grapes come from various vineyards with loess soils around
the village of Mailberg. Traditionally matured in stainless steel
tanks, it is not overly full-bodied, with an alcohol content of
just 12.0% by volume and a particularly well-balanced interplay of
fruit, spice and acidity. The colour is a clear, bright gold. On
the nose, it offers aromas of ripe apples, exotic fruits and a
subtle hint of herbs. On the palate, it is juicy and harmonious,
with pronounced fruit notes of light stone fruit and white pepper.
A delicate fruit sweetness is balanced by a pleasant acidity that
brings freshness and vibrancy. Lively, yet unmistakably Veltliner.
The finish is medium in length, with spice and refreshing citrus
notes.</xhtml:p>
