Description
The new vintage Grüner Veltliner from Birgit Eichinger's Grub vineyard is pretty impressive. The 2021 vintage was given an incredible 97-point rating by Falstaff. That's quite an achievement considering that this is the first time this wine was bottled as a single-vineyard wine!
The Ried Grub vineyard in Kamptal lies in a basin between the famous Heiligenstein and Gaisberg vineyards. Matured in large, used wooden barrels and in small wooden barrels, it promises great complexity and finesse. The nose is already very multi-layered with blossom honey, orange peel and yellow apples. Powerful, inviting and multi-layered on the palate with an interplay of minerals. Lingers very long on the finish. It has an enormous ageing potential and can be stored for many years.
A truly great white wine to celebrate the beautiful moments in life. Hats off, Birgit!
