The Reihburg vineyard is arguably one of the best-known single-vineyard sites in southern Burgenland. And with the 2022 vintage, Thomas Kopfensteiner once again demonstrates what a brilliant knack he has for the Blaufränkisch variety.

With a good 20 months still to go in large and small wooden barrels, the wine certainly needs a little more time. However, it is already showing its greatness and offering glimpses of its full potential. A cool, pronounced nose of ripe blackberries and black elderberries. On the palate, it is dry, tightly structured and complex, with tremendous depth. The dark, characteristic minerality of the Eisenberg is evident with every sip and sets this wine apart. With the oak already well integrated, it glides down the throat with a long, very pleasant finish. Enormous ageing potential of 20 years and more!

This is what Blaufränkisch from Southern Burgenland is all about. A symphony on the palate!
