With the 2016 vintage, this St. Laurent earned the prestigious Falstaff award, an exceptional achievement for this grape variety. The new 2022 top vintage once again proves that some of Carnuntum’s finest red wines come from the outstanding Altenberg vineyard.

Aged for about 14 months in barriques (20% new), this dry red wine is still youthful, yet already reveals its full potential. It is a powerful, juicy wine with deep fruit and remarkable structure. On the palate, notes of ripe plums and pickled cherries mingle with delicate nougat. Richly extracted, sweetly elegant, and with a long, lingering finish, it stands as a magnificent example of St. Laurent from 50-year-old vines.

A superb companion to game, hearty dishes, and both soft and hard cheeses.
