When the owners of the renowned Château Angelus embark on a new project, they do it right. Coralie Boüard, raised on one of the world's best wine estates, is realizing her vision with Clos de Boüard, at the highest level. While the wines remain affordable, anyone familiar with the family knows that something extraordinary is being crafted.

During our first blind tasting, we didn't know what we had in our glass, but we instantly recognized a wine with remarkable substance and potential.

In the glass, it presents a deep, dark ruby colour, nearly opaque, with violet reflections and a delicate rim brightening. The nose is immediately elegant, showcasing classic Bordeaux aromas from its blend of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Initially cool and aromatic, it demands ample air and time to reveal its full complexity. Hints of sultanas and rum pot emerge, followed by clean, present wood, then graphite and coffee. On the palate, it offers abundant dark fruit and dense flavours, with ripe tannins and a long, hedonistic finish.
