Roter Veltliner is an indigenous Austrian white wine variety found almost exclusively in the Wagram region, as well as in Krems, Kamptal, and the Weinviertel. It is currently experiencing a revival in popularity, and Bernhard Ecker in particular has devoted himself to this remarkable variety.

This example, sourced from various vineyards in the Wagram, can still be described as a classic expression. Its distinctive character is especially appealing. The nose shows vegan aromas with notes of plants and vegetables, along with fresh fruit. Hints of tomato and fennel shape the first impression. On the palate, it reveals juicy notes of lemon, apple, and quince, supported by a dry and well-balanced interplay of fruit and acidity. This dry, rather light wine is marked by a lively and refreshing style. An absolute regional rarity with plenty of charm and enjoyment.
