Weinhof Josef Scharl Pinot Noir Rosé Brut Reserve 2022, 0,75 L

A superb rosé sparkling wine in the reserve category from the 2022 vintage. And when it comes to Pinot Noir in the Vulkanland region of Styria, Josef Scharl is undoubtedly one of the leading names.

The grapes come from several vineyards around the village of St. Anna am Aigen. They are harvested by hand, gently pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks. The base wine is then bottled and matured for 30 months using traditional bottle fermentation. Brut in this case means a very low dosage with just 5g of residual sugar. This gives the sparkling wine its remarkable elegance.

Very fine bubbles in the glass and on the palate. Pale and brilliant salmon pink in colour. Delicate and refined on the palate with both spicy and fruity notes. Flavours of dark berries, a touch of cherry and a subtle salinity on the tongue. A beautifully juicy finish that invites the next sip. Long-lasting and consistently expressive of its outstanding quality.

Ideal as an aperitif or paired with salmon and seafood. Or simply enjoyed on its own.
