Description

Eichkogel is a renowned red wine cuvée from Kollwentz, one of Burgenland’s (in Austria) top wineries, nestled in the Leitha Mountains. Crafted from Blaufränkisch (sourced from the Point and Setz vineyards) and Zweigelt (from the Neusatz vineyard), it showcases the best of Austria’s indigenous grape varieties.

Only the finest grapes are hand-harvested, gently pressed after 3–4 weeks on the skins, and aged for 24 months in small French oak barrels. The result is a powerful yet elegant red wine with exceptional ageing potential.

Blaufränkisch contributes deep, dark, and spicy berry fruit, while Zweigelt adds juiciness and a velvety texture. On the palate, it is bold and long-lasting, with firm tannins and a youthful vibrancy. Subtle roasted notes from the oak enhance its complexity, making each sip a lasting pleasure.

When young, decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended to fully unlock its bouquet and intricate layers of flavour.
