The first mention of the Ried Point vineyard can be found in a document dating back to 1570. It has been in the Kollwentz family since 1848. The south-facing site produces only a small harvest every year on the calcareous clay soil, but the result is an extract-rich and characterful red wine. After 30 months in new barriques, it is best to decant this wine before enjoying it in its youth. Then you will be rewarded with soft tannins, lots of juice and body on the palate. Enormously enjoyable, yet mighty and strong. The flavours of black berries and extract-rich fruity sweetness demand the next sip with a finish that feels like an eternity!
