Muralia Cantina
Italy / Tuscany / Maremma
In every wine region, there's a hidden gem. Muralia is the Maremma's. The story is similar to many up-and-coming wineries: Chiara and Stefano Casali fell in love with the Maremma and wines from the area and decided to make wine in the region themselves. That was in 1997 and a lot has happened since. Their wines began to be bottled in 2007 and today they farm almost 15 hectares, producing fantastic wines with a lot of substance and a freshness that is very pleasing for a warm region. The vineyards are located on mostly clay-limestone soils with a high proportion of pebbles. This ensures a pronounced minerality in the wines and gives them their characteristic coolness and freshness. This is a winery to definitely keep an eye on. Even the top wines are very affordable and it's precisely such balance between taste and value that pleases us most.
