Some wines feel a little more serious from the very first moment. Not heavy, but focused. This was exactly our impression of this Riesling from Weingut Hees. It does not seek attention, but shows calm, clarity and a beautiful inner tension. A wine that clearly demonstrates how much origin and site can matter.

On the nose, the fruit is fine and restrained, cool rather than opulent. On the palate, the wine is very direct: crisp, precise and carried by a clear, stony minerality. The freshness is taut yet perfectly integrated, with nothing demanding or sharp. With a little air, it opens gradually and reveals more depth without losing its elegant line. The long, clean finish is particularly pleasing and lingers for a long time.

Auener Höhe is one of the more exciting sites on the Nahe, and this is clearly reflected in the glass. This Riesling is not a quick pleasure, but a wine that rewards attention and offers more enjoyment with every sip.

It is an excellent food companion for fish dishes, white meat, fine vegetable preparations or even Asian influenced cuisine with freshness and aromatic intensity. A Riesling for all who appreciate clarity, tension and elegance in the glass.
