Aaldering Wines Shiraz Stellenbosch 2018

Every year this Shiraz displays strength and finesse. It's a wine that we'd happily pay a lot more for.

What Aaldering from Stellenbosch conjures up here deserves respect. The bottle makes an impact, and this is matched by the quality of the wine. It flows dark and almost opaque into the glass, with a scent that's reminiscent of dark fruits, plus black olives and hints of herbs. Roasted aromas, with some coffee and cocoa. Very complex, but definitely a great smell!

Powerful and multi-layered on the palate, and balanced but not quiet. Many dark berries alongside very ripe, grainy tannin, with a hint of mint and nice, prominent acidity. Spreads pleasantly in the mouth. The finish is long, with good freshness and some toasted aromas.

Aaldering really delivers a great Shiraz for great value. Buy or give away without hesitation.
