Domaine Alain Lauverjat Sancerre Blanc 2020

This wine was great in 2019, and the 2020 vintage is at least on the same level. A fully ripe Sauvignon Blanc fruit will delight from the first sniff with currants, blackberries and a lot of dark fruit. It's very mineral, almost like wet stone. With stone fruit, peach, then lychee, very exciting. We would recommend a larger glass with this wine to allow the flavours to better develop.

The ripe fruit notes continue on the palate. Yellow fruity with a mineral touch, a bit nutty and a hint of bitter almond. Very powerful, very ripe and has really deep fruit. At the same time wonderfully balanced, very elegant, almost calm. A wine that wants to be explored, but needs time to develop fully. A great acidity accompanies the long finish.

We unreservedly recommend this to anyone who wants to taste top Sauvignon at a fair price. A great bet every year.
