Clos Montblanc UNIC Merlot 2021 DO Conca De Barbera Bio, 0,75 L

This wine comes from a single vineyard at around 400 metres above sea level. The heavy, clay-rich soils retain water, providing the vines with a consistent supply—ideal conditions for Merlot. After harvesting, the grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks and then matured for 12 to 14 months in American barriques.

In the glass, the Únic Merlot shows a vibrant purple-red colour. The nose is immediately expressive, dominated by typical red berry aromas, complemented by a subtle vanilla note from the oak. On the palate, it is juicy and creamy, with ripe tannins and a gentle warmth. Despite its alcohol content, it remains elegant and approachable, never heavy.

The price-to-quality ratio is particularly impressive: a Merlot that surprises with finesse and drinkability. It pairs beautifully with grilled or braised meats, hearty pasta dishes, and mature cheeses. This wine demonstrates that Catalonia is not only a treasure for white wines but also produces exceptional reds.
