Feudi di San Gregorio Cutizzi Greco di Tufo Riserva DOCG 2024, 0,75 L

If any white wine can demonstrate just how much its origin shapes its flavour, it is this one. The Cutizzi Greco di Tufo Riserva DOCG 2024 from Feudi di San Gregorio comes from the vineyard of the same name in Irpinia – very close to a large sulphur mine. The mineral-rich soils, containing iron, magnesium and potassium, give the wine precisely the character for which it is renowned: straightforward, fresh and wonderfully mineral. 96 Decanter and 95 Falstaff points are testament to this magnificent wine!

In the glass, the Greco is yellow with golden highlights. On the nose, notes of green plum and pear emerge, accompanied by a delicate, almost minty spiciness. On the palate, it remains juicy and fresh. Dry, the lively acidity meets a distinctive, slightly salty minerality, ensuring that the wine maintains its lovely momentum despite its depth.

After fermentation in steel tanks, the Cutizzi matures for twelve months on its own lees, during which time it is stirred regularly. A further three months’ bottle ageing gives it time to settle without losing its freshness.

Our tip: pair with fish and seafood, a really good buffalo mozzarella or a Mediterranean fish dish. A Greco for anyone looking for freshness in a white wine, but who doesn’t want to compromise on character and depth.
