We were immediately impressed by this exceptional example during a blind tasting. It checks all the boxes: first, it’s unmistakably a classic Pinot Gris; second, the fine acidity from southeast Styria makes it incredibly easy to drink; and third, it’s a deeply juicy wine with a smooth, almost melting texture. These elements come together in perfect harmony.

After a few months of ageing in large wooden barrels, the nose is laced with hints of caramel and ripe pears. On the palate, it’s full-bodied and well-balanced, with a rich mouthfeel. Flavours of juicy pear, delicate vanilla, fresh herbs, and a touch of citrus freshness linger on the long finish. This wine will continue to impress for at least the next six years.
