Gesellmann Opus Eximium No 35 2022 Bio, 0,75 L

With the new 2022 vintage, the Opus Eximium, the benchmark wine at Albert Gesellmann, celebrates its 35th anniversary. This popular red cuvée has become a fixed star in Austria’s red wine sky, crafted from Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, and a touch of St. Laurent. After 24 months in used small barriques and an additional 3 months of maturation in large oak casks following the final blend, it now reveals its full potential in the glass.

The nose opens with a delicately smoky, spicy backdrop, layered with ripe blackberry fruit and a subtle nougat note. On the palate, it delivers exactly what the bouquet promises: juicy, ripe cherries, fine tannins, and fresh wild berry confit. The finish lingers beautifully, making it almost impossible not to reach for another sip.

A true Austrian red wine classic, it pairs wonderfully with beef, juicy steaks, or hearty braised dishes, but is equally impressive enjoyed on its own at festive occasions.
