Rosé is more popular than ever, especially on warm days when the combination of chilled wine and mild summer evenings is simply unbeatable. And France, in particular Provence, as the largest rosé producer in the world, is setting the pace.

Light pink tones are particularly fashionable

One thing has become clear: The lighter the rosé, the more popular it is. In recent years, the colour palette has shifted more and more towards pale pink. This was triggered by winegrowers from the Côtes de Provence. Pressurage direct or direct pressing denotes the special process by which these winegrowers produce particularly light rosé. With this method, red or blue grapes are pressed immediately after picking, and only the grape juice is then fermented. In some cases, the grapes are left on the mash for a short time. Dyes and some of the tannins in the skin are thus transferred to the grape juice. As a rule, however, contact with grape skins during direct pressing is limited to the pressing process itself in order to produce the lightest possible shade.

The Côtes de Provence wine region

Côtes de Provence is currently experiencing a boom like never before. The wines represent ideal and typical rosé, against which all other rosé worldwide measures itself. It's a little like champagne, in that there's only one original. ;-) The Côtes de Provence wine-growing region covers around 20,000 hectares of vineyards and is located in the eastern part of Provence, in south-eastern France. Rosé accounts for more than 80% of the total wine production in the Côtes de Provence.

Ultimate Provence - Côtes de Provence Rosé 2020

Ultimate Provence is an ideal, typical rosé from Côtes de Provence - the name was chosen deliberately. From our point of view, their goal to create a perfect, easy-drinking rosé was achieved. Ultimate Provence is a new project by winemakers from Provence. Typically for the region, the grapes are specially grown for rosé and pressed directly.

Light pink in the glass with copper reflections. Fragrant on the nose with a combination of ripe lemon, raspberry and strawberry. Subtly spicy, floral and fruity on the palate and, thanks to its Syrah content, good acidity. A fine balance between fruit and freshness. Not too light, rather medium-bodied and with a round, harmonious finish. And the beautiful, high-quality bottle can later be used as a water carafe.

Chateau Miraval - Côtes de Provence Rosé 2020

Brad Pitt co-created, with the world-famous Perrin French wine-growing family, this cult wine from Provence.

The cuvée is made from traditional Provençal Cinsault, Grenache, Rolle and Syrah grapes and was classically matured in steel tanks. It shimmers salmon pink and copper red in the glass. The scent is reminiscent of raspberries, strawberries and some herbs. On the palate, it displays aromas of juicy strawberries and currants as well as hints of rhubarb. Together with the harmonious acidity trailing into the finish, this Miraval cuvée is a characterful rosé that's well worth a try.

Great for a day at the pool, to get you in the mood for a party, as an after work drink or for summer cooking and seafood.
