Description
A truly great Grüner Veltliner from terraced vineyards in the western Weinviertel.
The southern vineyard Hochstrass is one of the top sites in Hohenwarth. It is characterised by its high position, the loess soil with calcareous loam and the old vines. These factors produce powerful white wines with remarkable substance and depth.
Matured for almost twelve months in used barrique barrels, this wine shows great class in the glass. A spicy nose with yellow fruity aromas. Dry, juicy and animating, with a fine oak flavour, pome fruit and some citrus notes. Harmoniously balanced, powerful and with impressive depth. The extract's sweetness lingers for a long time and also demonstrates its outstanding class.
A reference Weinviertel Veltliner in the reserve category with a promising future and strong development potential.
