Johann Donabaum Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Ried Trum 2019, 0,75 L

This wine grows on the gently sloping Ried Trum vineyard between Oberloiben and Unterloiben. There's a maximum slope of 23%. The wine matures in large wooden barrels for the first six months, then in steel tanks. Ageing in wood gives the wine a harmonious overall appearance. There's a lot of stone fruit on the nose and mineral notes. It's delicately smoky with lots of citrus. Very invigorating!

On the palate, it's very ripe, very dense and juicy. A wonderful texture. Good pressure, taut and very animating acidity. Juicy, making you want to bite into a fresh apple. Ends in a great, long finish with stone fruit and citrus notes.
