The esteemed champagne house Roederer has once again captivated enthusiasts with their latest release, Collection 244!

The name "244" signifies the 244th harvest in the house's history, with 54% of the blend coming from the 2019 vintage. The reserve wines, maturing in wooden barrels, span the 2012 through 2018 vintages, as noted on the back label. The classic grape varieties—Chardonnay (41%), Pinot Noir (33%), and Pinot Meunier (26%)—are masterfully blended across these years. This meticulous combination, along with a Brut dosage of 7g residual sugar, makes Collection 244 truly exceptional.

The maturation in French oak barrels imparts complexity, delicate creaminess, and incredible elegance to this champagne, earning high praise from the world's top wine critics. Decanter awarded it 97 points, and James Suckling gave it 94 points—remarkably high honours for champagne in this price range and well-deserved in our opinion.

The nose is harmonious, with aromas of yellow apples, peaches, and delicate vanilla. On the palate, its elegance is unparalleled. Very fine, almost silky bubbles glide effortlessly, complemented by subtle yeasty notes reminiscent of almonds and brioche. The finish is fresh and savoury, with tantalizing hints of grapefruit.
