Description
Robert Parker calls this a wine for hedonists, we wholeheartedly agree. Troplong Mondot has that certain charisma typical of Bordeaux.
To taste it now, definitely decant the wine for several hours. After that, it will be full of youthful impetus. 30 months of ageing in barriques gives the wine a lot of structure and aroma.
A wine with great storage potential, with wonderful minerality and lots of dark fruit. Powerful, and perfectly ripe tannins line the palate. There is also tobacco and a slight salty note. This is a big red wine and, to be honest, it should be put aside for a few years.
James Suckling gives it 98 points, Antonio Galloni 97 and Wine Spectator 96 - almost all the top critics agree that this is great wine!
