Birgit Eichinger's esteemed winery makes a remarkable statement with this Chardonnay from the "Gaisberg" First Vineyard.

In addition to Grüner Veltliner and Riesling, Chardonnay thrives on the Strasser Gaisberg, where the loess soil interspersed with primary rock imparts a distinct minerality to the white wine. After five months on the lees, the wine is aged in a combination of large and small used wooden barrels.

The result is a multi-layered aroma featuring ripe yellow pears, gingerbread, and honeydew melon. On the palate, it is both present and juicy, with a wealth of fruit flavours that unfold in a complex and endlessly engaging way. It is dry, yet possesses a delicate fruity sweetness, and is full of power.

With the potential to age gracefully for 8-10 years, this Chardonnay is an excellent match for Asian cuisine.
