Don't underestimate good cava, but do compare the price with other sparkling wines. Cava is great value sparkling wine.

The Cava tradition in Catalonia is almost as old as that in France for the production of Champagne - so this is by no means "jumping on the trend". It really is an independent and distinctive sparkling wine culture.

The Brut Nature from Clos Montblanc comes, as the name suggests, without any dosage, i.e. additional sugar. It's very harmonious on the nose, with some honey and light hints of tree resin. In addition, there are floral notes and a certain citrus freshness. On the palate, the wine is already very firm and bone dry. This style is very widespread in the region, so not at all untypical. The perlage is fine and reminiscent of its French neighbours.

In the finish, there is a little almond and again the citrus aromas, more grapefruit and orange.

An exciting, unusual cava that is best served as an accompaniment to rice dishes or, of course, seafood, allowing it to fully play out its strengths.
