Dakishvili Family Vineyards

The Dakishvili family winery is located at the foot of the Greater Caucasus in the Kakheti region, the birthplace of wine and Georgia’s largest and most renowned wine-producing area. The family has been closely connected to viticulture for generations. Their ancestors arrived from the North Caucasus in the 1750s. Gogi, Temur and Ilona are professional oenologists who produce the family’s wines using modern technology while preserving traditional methods. The family is regarded as a pioneer, particularly in the traditional ageing of white and red wines in quevris, clay amphorae buried underground. Their wines are recognised far beyond Georgia for their exceptional quality. Saperavi is the leading red grape variety, while Kisi, Mtsvane and Rkatsiteli are the principal white varieties. Only around 50,000 bottles are produced each year through extensive manual work and natural methods.
