Description

With 92 Falstaff points, this is one of the best Federspiel Rieslings from the Wachau of the young 2022 vintage. The famous wine critic Robert Parker even awarded the 2021 vintage a sensational 93+ points!

The 1000-Eimer Berg is a striking elevation in Spitz ad Donau and a landmark of this traditional wine-making town. Extremely steep stone terraces and constant air circulation create a particularly fragrant and elegant Riesling. It has the raciness and characteristic "Spitzer" coolness when young.

The nose is greeted by pronounced notes of peach with some elderberry. Very juicy on the palate, elegant with dry fruit depth (2 g residual sugar). Ageing in stainless steel tanks ensures that it retains a pleasant coolness with piquant acidity. A prime specimen of a richly nuanced medium-bodies Wachau Riesling.

Pairs well with fish and vegetables. Also a great wine to sip on while basking in the warm glow of a sunny evening in the garden.
