Krispel Grauburgunder Ried Neusetzberg VStmk. DAC 2023 Bio, 0,75 L

If anyone understands the "Grauburgunder" grape, it is Stefan Krispel. His new Riedenwein proves it: awarded 95 points twice, it stands as the finest of its variety. Since the 2023 vintage, it has also been certified organic.

The Neusetzberg vineyard in the Styrian volcanic region is defined by shell limestone and a thick layer of red clay. After 12 months in small oak barrels followed by 6 months in large wooden casks, this creamy, dry white wine already shows remarkable potential – and yet it can be cellared for another 10–15 years.

On the nose and palate, it presents as a balanced, mineral-driven wine. Notes of exotic fruits such as melon and orange zest stand out. It begins full-bodied and round, then grows in power, supported by vibrant acidity. With each sip, it becomes more elegant and refined, lingering into a very long finish. A wine that leaves a broad smile – and an irresistible desire for the next glass.

In culinary terms, it pairs beautifully with woolly pork, mushrooms, or other hearty vegetarian dishes. Of course, it also shines on its own – a pure celebration of life.
