Description
With this Chardonnay from old vines in the Erste Lage Annaberg, Josef Scharl demonstrates how well this white grape variety suits the Styrian volcanic region.
Matured in large wooden barrels, the wine spent time ageing on the lees. It has now reached an ideal stage of drinking maturity and offers great enjoyment.
Dry and juicy, it shows intense fruit flavours of banana and apricot, with subtle notes of quince on the finish. The compact acidity supports the fruit beautifully. A mineral aftertaste and smooth drinking flow create a very harmonious overall impression. Excellent value for money.
A special companion to many dishes such as mushrooms, cheese, pork medallions and poultry. It will delight many wine lovers.
