One of the best Blaufränkisch single-vineyard wines with an incredible 98 AlaCarte points!
The Reihburg vineyard is probably one of the best-known vineyards in southern Burgenland. And with the 2019 vintage, Thomas Kopfensteiner also proves that he he is quite capable of making a fantastic Blaufränkisch.
After 20 months of ageing in barriques, the wine still needs a little time. However, it is now starting to reveal its greatness and full potential. A cool, pronounced nose of ripe blackberry and black elderberry. Dry on the palate, tightly meshed with an enormous complexity. The dark, typical minerality of the Eisenberg vineyard is discernible with every sip. The wood is already well integrated and the wine glides down the throat for a long pleasant finish. Great ageing potential of 15 years or more!
