Himmelreich – the vineyard that Leo Sommer and his colleagues from the Donnerskirchen wine quartet revitalised many years ago. This ancient vineyard was abandoned in the 1950s, as the new tractors couldn’t handle the steep slopes. It was later rediscovered by chance during a hike.

Today, the unique qualities of both the wine and the vineyard can be experienced through all the senses. This exceptional Grüner Veltliner, aged in wooden barrels, offers such depth and power that each sip is a true pleasure. Creamy and elegant, it reveals herbal spice and exotic aromas on the nose. Juicy, mineral, and complex on the palate, with a fine extract sweetness. The finish lingers beautifully, leaving a subtle salty note. A multi-layered taste experience!
