Allegrini Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico D.O.C.G 2020 Special Christmas Edition

Through his knowledge and years of experience, Allegrini has developed an Amarone style that preserves and accentuates the fruitiness. The grapes are traditionally air-dried for 3 to 4 months, during which they lose about 40% of their original weight. They are then crushed and made into wine. The aromas of dried and candied fruit are clearly present. The long ageing period in large wooden barrels adds complexity and further flavours that are typical of Amarone.

This wine hardly needs any additional description. This Amarone is a benchmark with its own unmistakable character. It is an incredibly complex and beguiling wine that reveals new flavours with every sniff. The palate is incredibly dense, then soft, aromatic, round, supple and flattering, with concentrated flavours of dark berries and dried, candied fruit. A hint of spice is always present, making it even more complex.

This wine is ideal for game dishes, grilled meat and braised dishes. It is also perfect for cheeses with a long ageing period. Best served at 18 °C. Remove the cork two hours before serving or pour directly into a carafe.
