Description
Zweigelt is cultivated exclusively in Austria and is the most commonly grown red wine varietal in the country.
The conditions are perfect for it, especially around Neusiedlersee where Gernot Heinrich from Gols created an Austrian classic almost 30 years ago. As with everything at Weingut Heinrich, the wine is grown organically.
The notes of cherries and sour cherries with soft tannins are typical of this varietal. Ageing in used 500l wooden barrels makes the wine even smoother. This Zweigelt glides down the palate in a velvety soft and charming manner. A second sip is immediately tempting. This confirms the first impression. Great fun factor and a classic that's a welcome addition to any wine cellar.
Pairs well with pizza and pasta as well as pan-fried meat. Wine is also a welcome guest at every party. And another little tip: this wine tastes even better if slightly chilled.
