Description
The Weißburgunder from Platt & Riegel grows above St. Michael/Eppan at around 550 metres above sea level, benefiting from cooler evening temperatures that contribute to its pronounced acidity and structure. This straw-coloured wine is already complex and expressive on the nose.
Aromatic notes of exotic fruit mingle with delicate woody spices and mineral hints derived from the chalky soils, offering an immediate impression of the wine’s quality. On the palate, it is dry, spicy, and layered, with a creamy texture and mineral undertones. Fine fruit flavours are beautifully integrated, accompanied by subtle, well-balanced oak. Full-bodied yet fresh, the wine’s vibrant acidity carries through to a long, elegant finish. Already enjoyable, it also has the potential to mature gracefully over several years.
Pairs wonderfully with fish and white meats, as well as a variety of rice-based dishes.
