Weingut Kerschbaum Cuvée Paul Kerschbaum 2021, 0,75 L

The well-known and consistently highly rated “Paul Kerschbaum” red wine cuvée is named after its founder, Paul. His aim at the time was to create a powerful red wine in the Bordeaux style using international grape varieties in central Burgenland.

Only in the best vintages are 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot aged for 24 months in French barriques. The 2021 vintage is certainly among the finest of the past 20 years.

Dry, powerful, long-lasting and limited:

A complex bouquet of ripe black cherries, blackberries and fine cassis notes on the nose, complemented by delicate spice, elegant roasted aromas and a hint of vanilla. Youthful and powerful yet harmonious on the palate, with well-integrated tannins and a juicy fruit structure. The balance between fruit, spice and oak is outstanding, leading to a long, elegant and warm finish.

A wine full of character, ideal with refined meat dishes, game or mature cheese, and perfect for very special occasions.

TIP: Over the next few years, be sure to decant or aerate the wine for 2 hours before drinking.
