Description
The 40-year-old vines from the Hochberg vineyard in Neckenmarkt, together with ageing in barrique barrels, create a dark Blaufränkisch full of power and finesse. A substantial wine that clearly shows how beautiful this special grape variety can be.
Fine notes of wood spice, figs and blackberries on the nose. Dry, powerful and elegantly complex on the palate. It immediately brings a smile and invites another sip. The tannins are round and pleasantly sweet, with hints of nougat and blackberries, balanced by gentle acidity and a delicate, long chocolate note on the finish. Dreamlike.
It can easily be stored for another 10 years and pairs well with rich meat dishes and game. It is also excellent on its own or for impressing the in-laws.
