Description
The Ried Kaargebirge in the Styrian Vulkanland is characterised by basalt rock, which gives this Chardonnay its minerality and pushes aromas to the fore.
After a good 12 months in used wooden barrels, the wine is still young and needs some air in the glass. After a slightly smoky note, exotic fruits such as pomello with herbs conquer the foreground. Dry, chalky and very firm on the palate. The salty-mineral finish is quite long and leaves a stimulating overall picture. All in all, it is reminiscent of the Burgundian style. Sip by sip, discover new nuances in the glass alongside complex aromas.
Can mature for a good 10 years and pairs wonderfully with veal and game fowl. On its own, it will surely delight every wine connoisseur.
