Old organic Grüner Veltliner vines on the southeast-facing slopes of Leithaberg lend this wine remarkable structure and depth. Awarded 94 points by James Suckling, it delivers impressive quality at a very accessible price. And true to his philosophy, Leo Sommer allows his wines the time they need to fully develop. Aged on the fine lees in large wooden barrels, the full potential of these old vines now comes beautifully into focus.
The result is a dry, precise, and structurally complex Grüner Veltliner with medium body and expressive character. Aromas of fresh herbs and subtle vegetal notes lead into juicy white apple and a delicate hint of vineyard peach. A fine, salty minerality lingers on the long, full finish, leaving a mouthwatering impression.
