Description

De-alcoholised wines are gaining popularity, and the prestigious Krispel winery from the Styrian Vulkanland region has embraced this trend with their "Zero 2024", showcasing their exceptional talent for crafting white wines.

This wine is made from a blend of Muscat and Bouvier grapes, matured in steel tanks before the alcohol is gently removed using a modern vacuum evaporator. While many de-alcoholised wines can lack depth and flavour due to the loss of alcohol—a key flavour carrier—Zero defies this, maintaining impressive character and richness.

On the nose, there is almost no difference from a regular wine: vibrant exotic fruits, fresh citrus, and delicate elderflower notes are complemented by a hint of peach. On the palate, it offers a perfectly balanced acidity, with a touch of delicate sweetness and lively fruity flavours. The wine is harmonious and grapey, with a light, slender body that makes it refreshing and easy to enjoy.

An excellent alternative when alcohol is not desired. Whether enjoyed on its own, as an aperitif or paired with Asian dishes, Zero 2023 is a versatile and delightful choice.
